The Final Conference of the Strategic Management in Sports project called BIGG4VB (Better incorporation of Good governance principles for better volleyball success) was held at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. The panel that followed was attended by a member of the International Olympic Committee Kolinda Grabar – Kitarović, State Secretary for Sports of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports Tomislav Družak, State Secretary at the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds Šime Erlić, COC member prof. Dr. Dragan Primorac, President of the Croatian Volleyball Federation Ante Baković, while the moderator was Valentina Bifflin, Director of the Croatian Volleyball Federation and project manager.

“Project as this one can have great effects, and its results will certainly influence future developments and help define rules that will strike a balance between the autonomy of sport and all that is needed today to regulate a number of rules. Sport requires investment, but the point of good governance is to attract funding through the credibility of organizations and access to sport. It is extremely important to involve the athletes themselves to play as big a role as possible in creating the rules, to make their voices heard. It is equally important to include marginalized, underrepresented groups, in this case women’s sport and its visibility, which is higher in Croatia than at the international level, and this is where we can share this good practice. “- said International Olympic Committee member Kolinda Grabar – Kitarović.
